It might’ve been a wet Sunday in the east of the country but the skies were clear in Co. Clare as the Irish Golfer Series stopped off at the stunning Dromoland Castle for our latest event in a packed 2021 schedule.
Conditions were conducive to good scoring and so it was no surprise to see someone break the 40-point barrier. Leading the way was Shane Webster’s 41 points, taking home the top prize in Category One, a sparkling TaylorMade SIM2 Driver while also booking his place in November’s Grand Final at the K Club.
In Category Two, Michael O’Brien’s 39 points put paid to the field as he added a SIM2 Max Driver to his arsenal and booked his spot in November’s Grand Final.
In Category Three, the ever-consistent Rose Harrington fired 36 points to pick up the SIM2 Max Driver while securing her place in the field at the K Club. Kathleen O’Neill and Orla Buckley beat all to claim the nearest the pin prizes while Lestyn Winn’s brilliant 69 took home the gross.
Thanks to everyone for taking part and to Dromoland Castle for hosting such an enjoyable day. The feedback we received from players really was top notch. The course is immaculate and well worth adding to your must-play list this summer.
Next up in the Series is Luttrellstown Castle on Thursday the 22nd of July.
