Mehaffey set for rescheduled Palmer Cup at Bay Hill

World number 17 ranked amateur, Olivia Mehaffey is set to participate in the rescheduled 2020 Palmer Cup, taking place December 21-23 at Bay Hill Club in Orlando. Alongside her Sun Devil Women’s Golf team partner Linn Grant, the duo was originally scheduled to compete in the Palmer Cup at Lahinch from July 3-5, but the event was postponed due to the public health crisis.

“We are thrilled to have two terrific Sun Devils make the Palmer Cup International squad along with their men’s team teammate David Puig,” Sun Devil Women’s Golf Head Coach Missy Farr-Kaye stated back in March. “It is such a great accomplishment and to have both Olivia and Linn make the team is very special.”

Grant was one of six international female Rankings Selections while Mehaffey was one of six female Committee Selections. They will compete in the Ryder Cup-style international collegiate event between the United States and International Team. The matches will return to Bay Hill Club, host of the inaugural playing of the Arnold Palmer Cup in 1997. Lahinch Golf Club will now host in 2024.

Renowned for having been the winter home of Arnold Palmer, Bay Hill Club & Lodge combines world-class golf in an exclusive club setting. The Par 72, 7,381 yard Championship Course sweeps across 270 acres along the shores of the Butler Chain of Lakes. Since 1979, Bay Hill has been home to the Arnold Palmer Invitational, one of the most popular tournaments on the PGA Tour. Arnold Palmer Cup alumni Francesco Molinari (2019) and Matt Every (2014-15) have claimed victory at Mr. Palmer’s tournament.
