Higgins wins first time out at Munster Winter Series

David Higgins made a winning start to 2020 when he shot a three-under par 69 in Cork Golf Club at the Munster PGA Winter Series event on Monday.

It was the Waterville professional’s first event in the series and he led the field thanks to an all-important birdie at the final hole. The clutch gain at the last saw him finish one shot ahead of Davey Barry.

The next event takes place in Castlemartyr later this month with the Morgan O’Donovan Perpetual Trophy scheduled for Monkstown in mid-April.
