Ireland’s Boys have set up a mouth-watering winner takes all tussle against England tomorrow after both sides maintained their 100% records at the Home Internationals at Asburnham Golf Club.

The Boys in Green charged home in the singles to break Welsh hearts, with Galgorm Castle’s Joshua Hill inspiring his side with a huge 7&5 win over Sean David.

The floodgates then opened with Dundalk’s Josh Mackin (2&1), Muskerry’s Fionn Hickey (1UP) and in-form Max Kennedy from Royal Dublin (4&3) all skating home in their respective singles matches to ensure Baltinglass’ Joseph Byrne’s surprising 3&2 loss in the final match meant little to the outcome.

Ireland’s 9-6 win followed their 10-5 day one triumph over Scotland and sets up a winner takes all encounter against their betters of last year, England on Thursday.

It will get no easier for Ireland after England’s boys demolished Wales 11.5-3.5 on the opening day before taking down Scotland 9.5-5.5 in today’s second set of matches.

Second to England at the Boys Home Internationals in 2018, Ireland lost out to the champions 8-7 in a thrilling final day encounter. Ireland last won the title in 2013 but will hope to put that right tomorrow.
