Damien McGrane and Neil O’Briain fired a pair of 65’s (-4) to top the leaderboard at the Elm Park Pro-Am on Sunday.
The duo finished one shot ahead of four players, Joe Dillon (Headfort GC), Michael McGeady (Evolve Golf Coaching), Ciaran Molloy (Ardee GC) and Cormac Sharvin.
Challenge Tour regular Sharvin, who performed strongly at the recent Irish Open, was making his first competitive start in a PGA in Ireland event.
With a shotgun start in operation, McGrane (Carlow GC) began on the third and was quick out of the blocks.
He was six under after seven holes following an eagle at the par-five seventh and birdies at three, four, six and nine. After a run of pars, dropped shots at the 16th and 17th halted his progress and saw him sign for his 65.
O’Briain, who started his round at the seventh, bagged five birdies in his round with his one dropped shot coming at the par four 10th.
The team prize was won by Jerry Scullion (Jerry Scullion Golf) and his amateur partners Louise Duggan, Collie Duggan and Adam Mullan who combined for 94 points.
