Aodhagan Brady takes third place at Student Series

Maynooth University student Aodhagan Brady claimed third place at the R&A Student Tour Series event at La Sella Golf Club.

Brady carded an excellent final round of 69 to climb to two-over-par and finish as the leading Irish player in the field.

Brady finished five shots behind wire to wire winner William Leu of Halmstad University who also carded a round of 69 for a three-under total to win by a single shot over Ross Laird of University of Stirling.

The 19-year-old completed a clean front nine with eight pars and a birdie on the seventh before a birdie, bogey start to his back nine was followed by back to back birdies on 15 and 16 as he put on a strong finish.

His Maynooth University teammate and Irish Close champion Thomas Abom took solo fourth place on three-over after a final round of 73.

James Walsh rounded out the top-10 on six-over.
