American collegiate golf returned on Monday after the winter break with three Irish in action across the country.
Beth Coulter teed it up for Arizona State at the Match in the Desert at Superstition Mountain Golf and finished in ashore of 29th place on six-over-par after a round of 78.
The Kirkistown Castle star who performed well for Great Britain and Ireland at the Curtis Cup in September and Europe at the Patsy Hankins Trophy a fortnight ago didn’t have things all her own way this time.
Coulter endured a torrid front nine making a triple bogey on the par-3 4th before bogeys on the 6th and 9th saw her turn in 41.
She stopped the bleeding with birdies on 11 and 18 but there were further bogeys on 14, 15 and 17.
Arizona State did finish in second place in the team standings with a combined score of five-over-par, three shots shy of the University of Kansas.
Meanwhile, at the Southwestern Invitational, Jack Murphy and Jake Foley have completed the first of three rounds at Sherwood Country Club.
Douglas star Murphy who represents Washington, is three-over-par after a round of 74 while his teammate Jake Foley (Elm Park) is plus ten.
