And we have lift off. The TGL finally delivered in week four as Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links side edged Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common in overtime after an enthralling contest.

Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner won their nearest-the-pin shootouts to clinch victory for Jupiter Links on Monday night in what was by far the best match of the Tomorrow’s Golf League to date.

This was a match that ebbed and flowed right to the end.

Adam Scott holed a 31-foot birdie putt to win the 14th hole for Boston and level the match, before Keegan Bradley missed an opportunity to win the match on the 15th meaning the score was tied at 3-3 and a closest to the pin contest was needed to determine a winner.

Kim, was the star of the show, channelling his Presidents Cup intensity.

The 22-year-old holed three pressure putts to halve holes and almost had a hole in one in regular time. He went agonisingly close again in overtime as Jupiter Links celebrated victory.

Woods, who incurred a penalty stroke on the 10th hole in his singles match against McIlroy, was delighted with the product on Monday.

“It is so different to normal golf. It was definitely different than when we first played,” said Woods who dovetailed well with teammates Kim and Kevin Kisner.

“This is what we had envisioned for TGL, to have an experience like this, and I think we delivered.”

McIlroy’s Boston Common side were making their first appearance in the competition and despite coming up short he was impressed by the intensity that Tiger brought to the contest.

“I’ve shared the course with him many times, and I’ve been in a couple of final groups with him, and he has just as much intensity out there tonight as he does when he’s trying to win a major championship or trying to finish,” he said.

“It’s amazing to go up and to compete against one of your heroes.

“This is competition, at the end of the day, and we’re all trying to beat each other as best we can.”
