Beth Coulter and Aine Donegan produced some of their Curtis Cup magic from last September as Europe kept within touching distance of Asia-Pacific heading into the final day singles of the Patsy Hankins Trophy at Al Hamra Golf Club.

Coulter and Donegan ground out a 2UP win over Suvichaya Vinichaitham and Vivian Lu in the round three foursomes.

The pair were three up after six holes but were pegged back to the minimum on the 9th and 11th holes by their opponents.

But, after a series of halved holes, a birdie at the 18th was enough to secure the victory as Europe won the session 3-2.

Lahinch star Donegan sat out the afternoon fourballs as Coulter came up trumps again.

The Kirkistown Castle hero combined with world number one amateur Lottie Woad for a 1UP win over Huai-Chien Hsu (Cindy) and Mirabel Ting in the bottom match of the afternoon as Europe scraped a share of the spoils from the session to trail by three points (11.5-8.5).
