Brendan Lawlor has a mountain to climb if he is to get his first win of the 2025 G4D Tour season as Kipp Popert and Siman Lee lead the way.

Two double bogeys have left Lawlor six shots off the pace on five-over after opening with a 77 at the ISPS HANDA All Abilities Australian Championship at Kingston Heath.

The Carton House man opened his round with a bogey six at the first and left himself with lots to do after a double bogey on the par-4 6th.

He steadied things with a birdie on the ninth but lost that momentum with back to back bogeys to start his back nine.

A birdie on 13 was followed by a second double bogey of the day on the par-4 16th.
