Lauren Walsh will look to cap off an impressive rookie season on the Ladies European Tour as she tees it up in the season ending Andalucia Costa Del Sol Open de Espana presented by OYSHO at Real Club Guadalhorce Golf.
Walsh arrives in Spain ranked 19th in the LET Order of Merit after registering four top-10 finishes in 21 starts while she is also through to the Final Stage of LPGA Tour Q-School in December.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed every minute of her debut campaign and is living the dream so far.
“I’ve just been doing my own thing and learning about life on tour, taking lessons from everything. Figuring out my scheduling and I have loved every opportunity so far, taking little things away, progressing along it has been good. Me and my coach Shane have seen each other more than I would have previously so it has been a steady progression. I love life on tour, I am living my dream.”
Meanwhile, down under, Gary Hurley will be looking to build on a second round of 67 at the Australian PGA. Despite missing the cut by one shot, Hurley was impressive on day two and has a chance to build on that at the ISPS HANDA Australian Open at Kingston Heath Golf Club.
The West Waterford man is playing the 2025 season on a membership extension on the DP World Tour after battling some mental health issues over the last few years.
“I suffer with general anxiety disorder leading to depressive mood. It’s happened a few times in my career but last year was the first time I went and got it properly seen to. I took a break from golf and didn’t play for four months. I wasn’t sure if I was going to play again to be honest.
“I worked on it with a psychiatrist and eventually started playing again, but just changed a few things in how I go about my business and deal with the personal impact golf has on your life.”
