McKibbin six back ahead of final round at Faldo Invitational

Despite returning a solid one-under par 71, Holywood’s Tom McKibbin finds himself six shots back at the Major Champions Invitational hosted by Sir Nick Faldo in Florida.

The Northern Irishman had fired a five-under par 67 on day one to share the 18-hole lead but lost ground to the front-running pack after some hot scoring on day two.
As part of Team Faldo, McKibbin’s six-under par 36-hole total is good enough for a tie for 4th in the individual male division after Andrew Goodman’s 65 saw him burst clear at 12-under par.

The second Major Champions Invitational saw 72 juniors from 18 countries teeing off at Bella Collina in Montverde, Florida with 18 teams of international golfers, each supported by a major champion, experiencing a professionally-managed tournament that gives players a glimpse into what competing at the top-level is like.

In the team competition, Team Hall have charged clear at the top at 19-under par, nine shots ahead of Team Spieth in second.
The team’s score is comprised of the low three out of four individual scores.

England’s Annabell Fuller leads the female scoring charts on seven-under par.
The tournament resumes for the final round in Florida today.
