It wasn’t the final round we had hoped for the Irish duo of Adrian Morrow (Portmarnock) and Maurice Kelly (Naas) at Concra Wood on the final day of the Irish Senior Amateur Open as the event was won by England’s Terry Foster with a level par total score of 216.

Out in the final group today alongside England’s Steve Graham, it was a case of what might have been for Morrow, Kelly and Graham as they slumped to scores of 78, 83 and 77 respectively to open the door for Foster who gladly took advantage with a two under par final round (70) to claim the title by two strokes.

Graham in particular will feel he let it slip after opening with a double bogey on the first and turning in 37 before two more doubles on 10 and 16 which really put paid to his chances and he came in in 40 strokes.

All credit to Foster though who recovered from an opening day 74 to shoot level par on day two and then two under on the final day to take the title.
