Captains charity day raises €50k for Breast Cancer Research

Friday May 18th  saw a large turnout at Galway Golf Club, Salthill for the Captain’s Charity Day in aid of Breast Cancer Research.  

 

The “Play in Pink” event saw over 120 golfers compete over the beautifully prepared 18-hole layout and the novel format of the “Champagne Pink Ball Scramble” certainly added to the enjoyment of all those present.  

A total of €50,000 was raised on the day for Breast Cancer Research, a national charity based at the Lambe Institute for Translational Research at NUI Galway. 

Speaking at the event, Club Captain Phillip expressed his delight at the total of the funds raised on the day and thanked everyone who played their part in making the day such a huge success, from club members and entrants, to the very many generous sponsors including platinum sponsors Galway Golf Club, Burkeway Homes, Tom Dempsey Carpets and Flooring, Future Financial Services, The Front Door Pub & Glenlo Abbey Hotel
