Paula Grant (Lisburn) and Conor O’Rourke (Naas) are best of the Irish after day one at the South American Amateur.

The Irish players had a great first day in Buenos Aires as Paula Grant shot 70 to lie in third place in the ladies section just two strokes off the lead while Conor O’Rourke fired a 69 for a T2 position and three shots back. Alex Gleeson (Castle), shot 70 for T7 while Ireland’s other representative, Jessica Ross (Clandeboye) endured a difficult day carding a 76 for T20.
