PING has never been a company that releases something just to check a box. When they bring back the Scottsdale name, it’s because it means something. This new line isn’t just about putters; it’s about honouring the roots of a company that reshaped the game from a small garage in Arizona.

The original Anser changed how putters were designed. The B60, the Pal, the Craz-E… each one left a mark. And now, in 2025, Ping is blending that iconic DNA with cutting-edge materials, modern fitting tools, and real-world performance.

So, whether you grew up admiring a Scottsdale Anser in your dad’s bag or you’re just discovering what Ping putters are all about, this new lineup connects generations of golfers in one simple way: by helping us hole more putts. At the end of the day, that’s what Karsten Solheim always set out to do.

Before Karsten Solheim revolutionised putting in the ’60s with the original Anser – the putter every company has copied since,- he was building putters in Arizona. Back then, Ping stamped the cavity of each putter.

Ping first revived the “Scottsdale” name in the early 2010s with a family of putters that offered a softer insert and more forgiving shapes. According to Ping President & CEO John K. Solheim, “The Scottsdale name has a special meaning to Ping… The new line includes some of the highest-performing models in our history.”

Why they’re so popular
The Scottsdale family hits that sweet spot: Tour-proven performance, cutting-edge tech, and just enough nostalgia to tug at the heartstrings. You’re getting a putter with Ping’s decades of R&D, a premium insert that helps with both feel and speed, and shapes that have won majors.

The new Scottsdale putters feature a one-piece PEBAX elastomer insert, a material also found in high-end athletic shoes. It’s soft, responsive, and built to deliver better feedback and control, especially on those confidence killing long putts. This insert helps improve distance consistency while still giving you that satisfying “Ping” feel. It’s basically a built-in boost to your feel game.

By creating large insert cavities, Ping engineers were able to redistribute weight out toward the perimeter. The result? Higher MOI, which means better forgiveness when you don’t strike it dead centre. Some of the heads, like the Craz-E and Prime Tyne 4, are slightly larger than previous generations for added forgiveness. In Ping’s words, these are game-improvement putters, and they mean it.

Each model features color blocking between the top rail and back cavity to help draw your eye to the ball and the target line. Add in various head shapes (blades, mid-mallets, full mallets) and you’ve got a putter line that fits just about any visual preference.

9 models: for EVERY stroke type
Here’s the full 2025 Scottsdale lineup:

Craz-E – Legendary high-MOI mallet with tour cred.
Craz-E CB – A mid-length version (37.75″) with a 17” grip for better stability.
Prime Tyne 4 – Twin-fork mallet for strong arc strokes.
Prime Tyne C – Center-shafted mallet, no offset, perfect for straight strokes.
Oslo 3 – High-MOI mallet with a clean, ball-width cavity for easy aiming.
Anser – The GOAT. Heel-toe weighted blade for slight arcs.
Anser 4 – Same Anser DNA, but with a hosel for strong arcs.
Anser 2D – A deeper version with mid-mallet forgiveness in a blade.
B63 – A throwback to the B60 with a slant neck and softer look.
DS72 – Viktor Hovland’s choice. Ball-width cavity and top-tier stability.

Each model is cast from 17-4 stainless steel and comes in a sleek chrome stepless steel shaft. All three Ping stroke types are covered: Straight, Slight Arc, and Strong Arc. So, no matter how you roll it, there’s a Scottsdale built for your game.

The company also introduced the WebFit Putter app, a web-based fitting tool engineered in-house to help golfers find the PING putter that best fits their game. Similar to the popular WebFit Wedge app launched last year, it’s a quick and easy experience to help golfers find a PING putter that will greatly improve their performance on the greens.

Speaking on the launch, PING CEO & President John K. Solheim added “The Scottsdale name has a special meaning to PING, dating back to the early days of the company in my grandfather Karsten Solheim’s garage, where his revolutionary ideas changed the equipment industry,” said Solheim. “The new line of putters includes some of the highest- performing models in our history, like the standard-setting Anser, and the popular Craz-E model, which was ahead of its time more than 20 years ago with its unique shaping and alignment features. The new insert technology applied to every model helps ensure a soft responsive feel, with the forgiveness and accuracy to sink more putts. It’s a great-looking selection of putters, and with the introduction of the WebFit Putter app, finding a PING model to fit your game is easier than ever.”

“We’re also excited to collaborate with SuperStroke on the putter’s grip. Their Tour-proven grip technology adds even more value to the Scottsdale putter family. It’s pistol shape and reduced taper help ensure performance by providing optimal feel and stability, leading to more confidence over every putt.”

The Scottsdale Craz-E, Prime Tyne 4, Prime Tyne C, Oslo 3, Anser, Anser 2D, Anser 4, B63 and DS72 are available at PING authorised retailers around Ireland today. The MSRP for each putter excluding Craz-E CB is €299, the Craz-E CB putter’s MSRP is €329. A SuperStroke grip is standard on all models.
