Cobra is taking certainly taking forgiveness to the Max with its new family of F-Max woods and irons designed to maximise speed and forgiveness right across the Super Game Improvement category.

The Cobra F-Max driver uses the proprietary Cobra Superlite 50 shaft (Superlite 45 in the women’s model) that is lighter than the shaft used in its predecessor the Cobra Max.

This combines with a reduced swing weight to promotes improved clubhead speed and greater distance for players with moderate swing speeds. The driver also has a larger Lamkin Rel 360 midsize to improve comfort and promote consistency from the tee.

Tom Olsavsky, VP of R&D for Cobra Golf, emphasises the importance of this:

When it comes to the Super Game Improvement category, it can’t be overstated how important lightweight construction is to this category of player. With the creation of F-Max we have focused on the concept that lighter means easier to hit and we have gone to great lengths to ensure that even our components deliver superiority when it comes to reduced weight.

The lightweight makeup is boosted by some familiar Cobra technology to turn the increased club head speed into more distance. A Forged Ti-6-4 Titanium Face insert delivers more speed and a larger Sweet Zone for better distance on mishits and back and heel CG internal weighting boosts MOI for a straighter ball flight.

The driver comes with a choice of an Offset hosel to promote a higher draw ball flight or the traditional Straight Neck design for players looking for more workability. Finally, a new subtle crown alignment feature gives confidence at address to help you hit more fairways from the tee.
The F-Max wood family is comprised of men’s and women’s versions of drivers, fairways and hybrids all of which use super light configurations combined with game improvement technology to make them Cobra’s most forgiving woods ever.

The F-Max driver come in 10.5° and 11.5° loft options for me and 15° for women with an RRP of €299.
